When to plow through a mistake

Sometimes when you're creating something, you know there's a flaw. You see the problem before it arrives, and you think you're doing the smart thing by stopping before you encounter that problem. You tell yourself you're being responsible—diligent, even. You say, "This isn't going to work for these reasons," and you choose another route.
