Berry’s Law

“The simplest version that still works — wins.”

It’s about chasing simplicity hard, but not for the sake of minimalism alone, for the sake of clarity in both design and storytelling.

So when applied to product design, architecture, or storytelling — Berry’s Law is that ruthless lens you hold everything up to.

  • If it can be simpler, it should be.
  • If you can’t explain it in a sentence, it’s too complicated.
  • If you can remove a part, a line, a feature and it still works, do it.

It’s not about dumbing things down. It’s about stripping away anything that doesn’t serve the core purpose.
