Hype is the product.

I’ve never seen anything quite like this.

Hype is the product.

I’ve been thinking about the idea that hype is no longer just a byproduct—it is the product.

There’s more money in pretending that AI can replace everything than in actually building the stuff. And the more you sit with that, the more obvious it becomes. There’s a ton of money to be made in the belief itself, in the waiting, the speculation, the suspension of disbelief.

It reminds me of blockchain. Most people never really understood it, but that didn’t matter. In fact, it kind of helped. Confusion was part of the opportunity. And now, with AI, we’ve taken that to the next level. A literal black box. Something nobody fully understands, but everyone has a take on.

And when there’s this much capital looking for a story to believe in, clarity isn’t the goal. Mystery is the fuel.

That’s the trick: the less people understand, the more room there is to sell potential. And that potential? It’s being packaged, priced, and traded like any other asset.

I’ve never seen anything quite like this.
