I’m an avid gardener. And I’ve never—never—seen a fistfight in one.
It might be the single most chill environment on Earth. The lighting is lovely because it’s mostly outside and full of fucking plants. Everyone’s speaking in near-whispers. People are watering the flowers for gods sakes!
When I moved to the West Coast, I was bracing for the stereotypical surf culture. You know, the laid-back, board-under-arm, good-vibes-only fantasy. But in reality? It’s toxic. Competitive. Guarded. Not what I expected.
The plant store? A breath of fresh air. Literally.
So now I’m wondering: can anyone top it? Is there a place with a more relaxed vibe and a more peaceful clientele than a plant store?
