Let go of aesthetic fantasies

There's a delusion of self-importance that creeps in when ego gets behind the wheel. Nothing truly good comes out of that. I came across this quote once from a YouTuber who makes these random videos dissecting video game environments. He got popular, and when a podcaster asked him, "What makes you think you're special?" he responded, "I don't know, and I don't care to know, because at that point, it will distort how I present what I care about." A perfect distillation of ego killing clarity.
